Pack Rat Corner Store On-Line

Pack Rat Corner is our at-home store, in which we offer new and used media – books, movies in DVD and VCR format, piano music and music CD’s. I am a pro-merchant (third-party) seller on the Amazon Market Place which is a great place to list and sell to customers all over the world.

We send items to some very interesting names and places. It becomes a geography lesson in a fun way, also, a linguistics and spelling lesson. We have a large world-map on the wall where we tag each new location where we ship to. This morning we sent a book to Forli, Italy for instance. We had never heard of the place so it will be interesting to zoom in on that place with the Google Earth, thus, a little vicarious travel added to the experience. Another perk is the knowledge that we have helped someone find something that they really want and, often, is a hard to find out of print, item. Sometimes a customer will write a thank you to us, saying she or he has searched for years and is so glad to have finally find it.

This year I will attempt to introduce and review much of our inventory on this blog. Readers may like to go to my online store and browse at leisure. You can scan the pages one by one, or in the search bar type the name of author or title to see if we have it. Or type the author’s name and all the books we have by that author should appear. Sometimes, the search is frustrating and won’t bring up something. This is often a glitch in the computer, at other times, can be a simple word difference in the title.

The World of the American Indian

The World of the American Indian is a magnificent "coffee table" book published by National Geographic, with Jules Billard, Editor. The book includes a slip sleeve in the back which holds a map titled, "A Chronicle of the North American Past". The hardcover boards are covered with a heavy course fabric in a gold and black Indian design and the spine cover is black imitation leather. The pages are filled with lovely photos and drawings, giving the reader a visual trip into the past. The many tribes of North America are throughly covered in an interesting read.

Anyone who is interested in the history of this country or in the American Indians that once were many throughout the land should find this book fascinating. The great detail with which the pictures are drawn and photographed is something one will not forget easily.
